About the role:
Our client is looking for a Tech Lead (Ruby on Rails) to lead integration projects with various POS systems such as Toast, Square, and Shopify for their loyalty program platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on coding experience and a strong background in project management, particularly in delegating tasks and ensuring the quality and efficiency of integrations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with principal engineers to understand integration specs.
- Lead a team of 2 senior developers, dividing tasks and ensuring timely delivery.
- Hands-on coding (80% of the time) to build API layers and integrate with POS systems.
- Ensure integrations are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards.
- Join calls to resolve issues and unblock team members.
- Work closely with the internal DevOps engineer to manage services on AWS.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of Ruby on Rails experience.
- Proven experience running projects with a team of engineers.
- Strong hands-on coding skills.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to join calls for quick issue resolution.
- Experience with PostgreSQL databases.
- Ability to delegate tasks and manage project timelines.
- Advanced English proficiency.
