Job: Web Frontend Engineer

As a growing company in the robotics delivery space, our client is in need of a web front-end expert to drive rapid development of their fleet applications. Projects range from prototyping with UX specialists to enhance the efficiency of remote pilots, to rolling out improved UI frameworks and tools. While some projects can be built out as an individual contributor, others will include coordinating with full stack engineers to get the job done. The team is still small, offering the opportunity to wear multiple hats and significantly influence every aspect of the applications being developed.

What you’ll be doing: 

• Working closely with the Fleet Operations team, understanding their needs and use cases for tasking rovers for deliveries in urban environments, and empowering them with the right tools, business metrics, and data. 
• Partnering with User Experience Interaction engineers to design, prototype, and implement intuitive interfaces for human-robot interaction. 
• Innovating and championing sustainable patterns for component UI development. 
• Driving software design decisions based on your learnings. 

What makes you a strong fit: 

• In-depth knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern JavaScript libraries and tooling (e.g., React, Redux, Vue). 
• Extensive SPA programming experience with a focus on performance and tooling. 
• Experience with UI CI/CD mechanisms and tooling related to deployment and caching (e.g., service workers, CDN). 
• A track record of mentoring junior and senior engineers. 
• Experience shipping production code with full instrumentation: deployment, logging, monitoring, and documentation. 
• A history of designing and building simple systems that evolve into complex systems while maintaining functionality. 
• Ability to convert vague problems into tangible production code. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
